theFranaGroup in collaboration with the Crusader Community Health Founation presented scholarships to local students.
Rockford IL: May 23, 2017- theFranaGroup, a national healthcare consulting firm headquartered in Rockford, IL, specializing in Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC), announced today that it and Crusader Community Health Foundation have awarded four $1,000 scholarships to local individuals. The firm established the scholarships in 2015 in collaboration with the Crusader Community Health Foundation as part of their celebration in reaching a $1 billion milestone in helping clients achieve direct grant funding. Three of the scholarships were funded by theFranaGroup and one scholarship was funded by Crusader Community Health Foundation.
This year’s recipients were:
Brandy Fields graduating from Rockford Alternative High School continuing on to Jackson State University; Michelle Harris a former graduate of Jefferson High School continuing to a University of Cincinnati online course; Paige Dobson graduated from Hononegah High School continuing on to Rock Valley College; Avuina Howard graduating from Auburn High School continuing on to Southern Illinois University.
The scholarship winners were chosen through a random drawing process overseen by Crusader and scholarshp monies were given directly to the individuals so they can use the funds at their discretion. The only eligibility requirements were applicants must be either: a graduate of Rockford Public School Districe 205 or an employee of or have a family member who works at Crusader Community Health. They must also plan on continuing education such as community college, trade school or a four-year dollege or university.
“When we designed our scholarships, we decided that we wanted to give as many applicants as possible a chance and give the recipients direct access to the funds,” said John Frana, president of theFranaGroup. “We see this as a way for everyone to have a chance, whether they are going to college, taking online courses for a certification to enhance their job skills or attending a trade school. We are please to be able to award these scholarships and have heard from past recipients on the positive impact it has made on their lives.”
