Rockford IL: December 4, 2014 – The health Services Resources Administration (HRSA) announced the certification of Packard Health, Inc. of Ann Arbor, Michigan as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) Look-Alike.  Packard Health, a clinic serving low income persons for over 40 years, partnered with theFranaGroup, a healthcare consulting firm specializing in FQHC status preparation and application, to achieve this valuable certification.  The FQHC review process requires clinics to meed strict standards of operation and quality, including a multi-day onsite review process.  As an FQHC, Packard Health will be eligible for enhanced Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement, access to the low-cost drug 340B program and serve as a loan repayment site for the National Health Service Corps.  For a clinic of Packard Health’s size, the impact could be more than $1 million annually.

The certification is the result of a yearlong process reviewing every aspect of Packard’s operations and governance.  Fewer than 150 nonprofit clinics nationally qualify for FQHC Look-Alike status.  Packard is the 28th clinic for whom theFranaGroup has helped achieve FQHC status and the fourth in the state of Michigan.
