LIFESPRING RECEIVES SAMHSA CCBHC AWARD 

ROCKFORD, IL: September 23, 2022 – theFranaGroup is pleased to announce that LifeSpring Health Systems was awarded $1,000,000 by the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), through the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).  LifeSpring Health Systems located in Jeffersonville, Indiana, is one of the 56 organizations to receive the SAMHSA Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) award. As the premier provider of mental health and primary care services in southern Indiana, LifeSpring serves a large rural population that pose specific disparities to the social determinants of health, mental health and primary health that impact the rural population so greatly. With the help of this funding, LifeSpring is now in a unique position to plan, develop and implement advancements in the delivery of mental health and substance use services, supporting a unique patient population that continues to struggle. LifeSpring will expand on its currently programming which has proven impactful in supporting patients through specialty services.

LifeSpring will focus efforts on expanding crisis mental health services to ensure 24/7 access via telephone, will expand its use of evidence-based practices to inform care, will expand primary care screenings and assessments and expand access to rehabilitative services including Assertive Community Treatment.

Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) now represent the largest primary practice in the United States. In 2021 they served almost 29 million patients including almost 377,000 Veterans. FQHCs provided primary care to one in nine children, one in three people living in poverty and one in five people living in rural areas.
