American Rescue Plan Funding will help improve care to more than 30 million people

ROCKFORD, IL: August 19, 2022: – theFranaGroup is pleased to announce that four of its clients, A Plus Family Healthcare, located in Brownsville, KY, Black River Health Services, located in Burgaw, NC, Center for Family Health and Education, located in Panorama City, CA, and Packard Health, located in Ann Arbor, MI, is a recipient of the American Rescue Plan Act (ARP) Funding Award. Each client has been awarded $65,500 by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), to advance health equity through better data collection and reporting. This Award recognizes the vital role health centers play in safeguarding the well-being of Americans and honor the heroic staff who keep these facilities running. This award will help strengthen efforts to eliminate inequities in COVID-19 care and outcomes within communities of color and other underserved populations. HHS awarded nearly $90 million to nearly 1,400 community health centers across the country to improve care for the more than 30 million people they serve.  A Plus, Black River, Center for Family, and Packard, will use this funding to support data modernization efforts aimed at better identifying and responding to the specific needs of patients and communities through improved data quality; advancing COVID-19 response, mitigation, and recovery efforts; and helping prepare for future public health emergencies.

Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) now represent the largest primary practice in the United States. In 2021 they served almost 29 million patients including almost 377,000 Veterans. FQHCs provided primary care to one in nine children, one in three people living in poverty and one in five people living in rural areas.
