ROCKFORD, IL: June 3, 2016 – theFranaGroup, a national healthcare consulting firm headquartered in Rockford, IL, specializing in Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC), announced today that it has awarded two $1,000 scholarships to local individuals. The firm established the scholarships in 2015 in collaboration with the Crusader Community Health Foundation as part of their celebration in reaching a $1 billion milestone in helping clients achieve direct grant funding.

“Supporting individuals in our community as they pursue education beyond high school is one way area businesses can make a difference in Rockford’s transformation,” said John Frana, president of theFranaGroup. “There needs to be an increase in the level of skilled workers in this region and by awarding these scholarships to individuals, whether they plan to attend a community college, a four-year institution or trade school, we hope we are making an impact to Rockford’s economic health and vitality.”

This year’s scholarship recipients were Michael Booker and Nathan Brady. Michael will be attending North Iowa Community College where he will study physical education and Nathan is currently attending Southern Illinois University, Carbondale where he is studying Autotech/Electrical Engineering. Applicants must be either a graduate of Rockford Public School District 205 or an employee of or have a family member who works at Crusader Community Health. Recipients are chosen through a drawing overseen by Crusader and scholarship monies are given directly to the individuals so they can use the funds at their discretion.
