theFranaGroup has awarded two $1,000 scholarships to local individuals

Rockford, IL  May 6, 2018 – theFranaGroup, a national healthcare consulting firm headquartered in Rockford, Illinois, specializing in Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC), announced today that is has awarded two $1,000 scholarships to local individuals. The firm established the scholarships in 2015 in collaboration with the Crusader Community Health Foundation as part of its celebration in reaching a $1 billion milestone in helping clients achieve direct grant funding. Both scholarships were funded by theFranaGroup.

This year’s recipients were Eddy Bourgen, an East High School student, and Paris Toney, a Crusader employee. Bourgen plans to attend Rock Valley College in the fall and Toney plans to continue her education at Rasmussen College.

The scholarship winners were chosen through a random drawing process, and scholarship monies were given directly to the individuals so they can use the funds at their discretion. The only eligibility requirements were applicants must by either a graduate of Rockford Public School District 205 or an employee of or have a family member who works at Crusader Community Health. They must also plan to attend an institution of continuing education such as community college, trade school or a four-year college or university.

“We are pleased to award these local individuals with scholarships whether they are going to college, taking online courses for a certification to enhance their job skills or attending a trade school,” said John Frana, president of theFranaGroup.  “This is the fourth year we have awarded the scholarships and we are happy we can support individuals in our community as they pursue education beyond high school.”
